Plus I see y'all wilin' out on Facebook, so I know that you peoples are out there! LOL. So start posting or else. Don't make me call names (Wolfie, Aisha, Fred...).

Can a sister get a Donation

I really want to go to the retreat but a sister is really broke right now. I recently had to shell out 300 dollars and have to shell out about 365 next week. So I am throwing myself on the mercy of my brothers and sisters to drop a dollar two in the hat, ya heard. Of course a sister will pay you back...Do you accept food stamp or govenment cheese?

I Love you all!

There are not many things in life that I can honestly say I think about more than all of you. The Baltimore Campus ministry has my heart and there is not anything I wouldn't do for any of you. When I think about being a disciple of Jesus, and being in the Battle with all of you I have great confidence. I take confidence in knowing that our Father has given each of you spiritual gifts that bond us together and make us unstoppable against Satan and his evil scemes. For now, I leave you with this and hope that it will help you this week.

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. (Ephesians 6:10-20)

Cash

Consider it Pure Joy

Consider it pure joy, my brothers [and sisters], whenever you face trials of many kinds for you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be made mature and complete not lacking in anything. (James 1:2-4)
----

I heard this Scripture quoted today and I thought...man, there is just no shortcut to maturity. I continue to realize that if I am to grow as a Christian, I have to renew my mind in regards to trials in life.

This week has been quite challenging for me. Inconsistent work hours, my own personal struggles, follow-ups, family, and pondering about the direction of my life have left me....a bit perturbed to say the least. But the Scripture above challenged me to refocus my thinking.

What is a trial anyways? An examination, an experiment, an assessment etc.
If were to grade myself on how I have handled trials this week would I pass?

->Pure Joy – F-; is there a lower grade than this?
->Prayer – D-;
->Holding on to the promises -> B- maybe
->Trust in God – N/A

I’m spurred on by that Scripture in James to consistently view trials in a positive light. It’s hard, but I guess I’ll understand it better by and by…

We are Live!! ++ Music!!

I can finally say we are "live". I was able to integrate audio into the site although it took longer than anticipated. The radio.blog media player is just plain cool! I tested and it works for both IE and Firefox browsers. To listen to music while on the site, click on "JusLisen" and the player will pop-up. If you don't get a pop-up window(highly unlikely) you may have to disable pop-up blocking on your browser. I have uploaded India Arie's songs ( I see you smiling Aisha! ) and will be posting Jon Augustine's once I catch up with Wolfie. Cash, I am sorry I don't own country music CD's (There are no rodeos where I am from). Latoya, Oh-My-Flipping-Gosh Latoya!! maybe you can introduce the music of Regina Spectkor to the rest of us. Indulge! I'll hit the sack now. Good morning!

Fred.

A Big Thanks to Fred!

This has been a long time coming and I am excited that we now have something to keep us all connected as we fight and battle on our campuses alone during the week. Many of us have been emailing back and fourth but this can now be our new means of communication as we fight on through the week. I encourage everyone to join in.

Fred I want to take this time to let you know how much I and I'm sure it's safe to say all of us appreciate your heart to stay up all night working on this and helping us to continue to be bonded as the body of Christ. I love you Bro! We all (myself included) can learn something from your example as a servant in the Kingdom of GOD! You are an amazing man with an amazing heart! Never give that up! (Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.)

As for the rest of you hulligans, (spelling?) I love you all very much and can't wait to be refreshed as we spend time together!

In Him,
Cash

Your Mid-Term Exam

Last Sunday, Cash delivered his first sermon at the singles/campus service held at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and it was awesome. Listen here.

Lamar's Big Day

2/25/07: The C.M went to BareBones after an abbreviated service (courtesy of the snow )to celebrate Lamar's baptism.

Welcome to the Scoop Lounge

Yay!! Finally we have a blogspot where we can share our love for God with the world and with each other. The idea of having a place where we can share our quiet times and encouragements remotely is certainly not new.

In the Disciples Lounge, anyone in the campus ministry(C.M) can post under either Scripture or Culture. The Scripture category includes bible lessons, quiet time readings, and prayer requests while the Culture category includes devotional (time and place), new song lyrics, quizzes, recipes, and the critically acclaimed weekly scizoop!

I look forward to the first cyberdevo.
